POWER OF PROJECTING YOUR INTENTIONS

WHY PRAYER IS IMPORTANT AND PRAYERS YOU CAN SAY — Kathryn Romani

Prayer is for everyone – whether you are “religious” or not. It is an effective way to project your intentions. When praying, your horizons of awareness expand. Light is radiated through the darkness of your fears, worries, sorrows and loss. Hope springs forth in your heart. When situations occur that are beyond your control, you can feel helpless. At those times, it is very comforting to pray because it provides you with a meaningful way to “do something” positive.

Human beings are all born with free will to choose their own path. Divinity will NOT interfere in your free will unless you ASK for help. This is why prayer is so important. Prayer is talking to a spiritual Power greater than yourself — God, Creator, Infinite Source, Divine One, Universe, Higher Power, etc. — to express thanks for all that you have and to ask for the help you need. Notice that prayer has two steps: 1) gratitude and 2) heartfelt petition.

There is evidence throughout all of history and all religions of how prayer has overcome enemies, brought healing, helped people with their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs, and protected them from harm. Through prayer, the Infinite Source opens new perspectives, changes hearts, grants wisdom, and heals.

The power of prayer can never be underestimated because it draws upon the glory and the might of the Infinite Power of the Universe!

Here on The Positivity Tree, a variety of prayers are available below — Non-Denominational, Jewish, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and more.

NON-DENOMINATIONAL PRAYERS

Morning Prayer – Thank you for this glorious day. Holy One, you know, so much better than I, exactly what I need this day. Please grant it to me surely, swiftly and most harmoniously. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and energize me that I may be a blessing to others. Amen.

All-Encompassing Loving Kindness Prayer – Because this prayer is so all-encompassing, it can be offered for anyone, under any circumstances, to send them the most auspicious blessings. You can also offer this prayer for yourself by inserting “I” as the name. Doing so will help strengthen your self-esteem and encourage to love yourself more, as the Source unconditionally loves you.

May (insert name) be mentally happy.

May (insert name) be physically happy.

May (insert name) be safe.

May (insert name) have ease of well-being.

Explanation: It is important to keep these statements in the same order that they are arranged.

1. Being mentally happy means being free from fear, anger, worry and confusion.

2. Being physically happy keeps you healthy, employed and able to meet all of your bodily needs.

3. Being “safe” means being protected from all negativity at all levels – spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, etc.

4. “Ease of well-being” is when everything automatically goes smoothly for you – people are exceptionally kind and helpful to you. You find yourself being in the right place at the right time and life takes on a serendipitous twist, making you feel truly blessed.

Prayer for Healing – May (name) be lifted up in Love and saturated with Healing Light, for his/her highest and greatest good. May he/she recover surely, swiftly, thoroughly and most harmoniously.

For this I give thanks. So be it.

Prayer for the Dying or Deceased – Oh Infinite Light, shine down upon this beloved Soul (insert name) who is close to transition/has transitioned. Send them my love and appreciation for their being in my life. Guide this Soul into the realm of Light and Love. May they remember all of their good deeds. May this Soul be blessed a hundredfold for all the good they did for others and for all the joy (or add your own word) they brought into the world. May (name) rest in peace in a place designed for their highest and greatest spiritual good. And so it is.

PRAYER TO THE GREAT SPIRIT Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose breath gives life to all the world. Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Help me to remain calm and strong in the face of all that comes towards me. Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. Help me seek pure thoughts and act with the intention of helping others. Help me find compassion without empathy overwhelming me. I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy, Myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes. So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame. — Translated by Chief Yellow Lark

JEWISH PRAYER FOR HEALING Here is the English translation of the Hebrew text of the "Mi Shebeirach": "May the one who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah, bless and heal those who are ill [names]. May the Blessed Holy One be filled with compassion for their health to be restored and their strength to be revived. May God swiftly send them a complete renewal of body and spirit, and let us say, Amen."

Psalm 31:9, 14-15 for Strength and Protection "Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief." "But I trust in you, Lord; I say, 'You are my God.' My times are in your hands."

Prayer based upon Psalms 91:9-16

“Holy God, I have made You my dwelling place, the Most High, who is my refuge and I trust that because of this no evil shall be allowed to befall me, no plague come near my home. For he will command his angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways. On their hands they will bear me up lest I strike my foot against a stone. I will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent I will trample underfoot. I rest upon your promise: “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Amen

THE SERENITY PRAYER

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it be.

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

so that I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

Amen
